About the PHS Fall Garden Festival
PHS Members Plant Dividend
The annual Plant Dividend boasts plants
grown and donated by expert propagators, PHS members, and commercial
growers. Selections often include perennials, shrubs, houseplants,
and trees. Upper-level donors are invited to attend the Dividend at 9 am. (Valid PHS Membership Cards are required to enter the Dividend tent, so please remember to bring your card or visit the Membership Tent for a temporary card. To renew or join PHS, click here.)
Shopping at the Marketplace
The Fall Garden Festival is also an unparalleled opportunity to shop. In addition to a farmers market featuring fresh veggies and fruits, the Gardeners' Marketplace features dozens of first-class vendors. Click here to see the List of 2010 Festival Vendors.

Live Auction
Starting at 1:30 pm, sit in on the Live Auction. This is your opportunity to bid on one-of-kind items including specimen plants, Flower Show props, and much more. It’s not only fun, but
all proceeds go to PHS. Cash and credit cards accepted.
Navy Yard Tours
Enjoy Navy Yard Tours in the comfort of a double-decker bus. Tour guides will tell you about the history of the Navy Yard, present activities, and future plans. You’ll see Navy ships, the first platinum LEED building in PA, a film studio, the largest ship-building facility in the United States, and much more. Tours depart from Constitution Avenue near the Membership Tent on the half hour beginning at 11 am. Last tour departs at 1 pm.
Children's Activities
Little ones won't want to miss the Children's Activities. Kids can paint a pumpkin and have their own faces painted, among several other engaging youth activities. For those with extra energy, the Play Area is a guaranteed good time. Activities include: Veggie Races, Pumpkin Painting, Bubble Play, Coloring, Tree I.D., Kids Challenge, Tree-Mendous Feats, PHS Garden Puzzle, Potato Sack and Relay Races.
Flower Show Shoppe
Visit
the Philadelphia International Flower Show Shoppe to take advantage of special pricing on Flower Show souvenirs and apparel. You’ll also find a unique selection of bulbs and garden items as well as floral-inspired apparel and vintage jewelry. Be sure to enter our Special drawing for prizes valued up to $60.00!
Music & Entertainment
Prose from Dover, the husband/wife duo of Dave McCann and Barley Van Clief, will provide musical entertainment. With over 180 songs in their repertoire, they have something for everyone.
Shop the Meadowbrook Farm Store
Experts from Meadowbrook Farm will answer questions and have for sale an exceptional collection of plants and gifts. Members of PHS receive a discount on purchases from the satellite Meadowbrook Farm Store.
Gold Medal Plants
High-quality plants that have received the PHS Gold Medal Plant award will be available for purchase as well. Choose from economic and easy to carry starter plants up to the landscape size for experts.
Green Stop & Gardener's Studio
Stop, and learn about green living practices! The PHS Green Stop is an educational area of the festival that will feature information stations for green organizations. These organizations will be on site to answer questions on the many ways to create a greener lifestyle, business, home, and community. Participating organizations include: PHS, PECO, Neighborhood Gardens Association and many more.
Garden Pot Recycling & Exchange
Festival-goers are encouraged to bring horticultural plastics for recycling (pots, inserts trays, fruit baskets, hanging baskets, etc.). All plastic types will be accepted. Collected materials will be available throughout the day for patrons to take for re-use. Any remaining materials will be recycled. CLEAN and SORTED horticultural plastics may be dropped off at the Garden Pot & Recycling Exchange tent from 9 am - 4 pm.
